According to the reports, West Ham had rejected the bid of €18 million (£16.2 million) for Gustavo Gomez the Palmeiras defender in the summer. Everyone is well aware of the fact that Hammers wanted to boost their defensive ranks in the summer. The player was associated with a number plethora of center-backs and this includes the likes of Guillermo Maripan the Chilean ace Mundo Deportivo and Gary Cahill (ExWHUemployee).
Finally, the east London outfit has closed for 18-year-old Gonçalo Cardoso. Although, the young footballer has not made even a single appearance for the Hammers till this time. It looks like though West Ham is eyeing on someone else.
According to the report coming from different media, Manuel Pellegrini is interested in signing Gustavo Gomez. The Hammers supposedly lodged the bid of £16.2 million for the defender and the same has been rejected by Palmeiras if sources are to be believed.
The 26-year-old young player has 33 caps on his name for Paraguay and his approach of no-nonsense to defending has probably made him the best suited to the Premier League and that is the reason for his selection may be. Gomez is a good player no doubt and he has experience of playing in Europe. In Europe, he was associated with AC Milan and for the club; he has made impressive 20 appearances on in his career.
If West Ham includes this player in its club, it would be a good decision. He will be a very useful addition. Whether West Ham will go back in for him or will not stay to be seen. The final decision about this will soon be in the news as this will be a big move for West Ham as well as Gomez.
